Bugs, New featurs, and fun with code. - Posted by 4T2 on 4/14/2003 at 10:48:09 AM.
I will be doing some site/database maintenance over the next few days. A few parts of the site may go down for a short time. But don’t fear, it will all be back up in it’s original glory soon.

Caffeine + Redbull + Computers = Pictures? - Posted by 4T2 on 4/8/2003 at 1:07:39 AM.
I’d like to personally thank all those who came to the event. We appreciate your support and hope to continue providing you with your caffeine loaded, sleep deprived, game filled weekends.

That being said, photos of the event are now up under the media link.
Also, can anyone who took their own pictures zip them up and send them to me? I’ll get them up on the site too.

Tournament Prizes - Posted by MerlinRML on 4/3/2003 at 6:35:08 PM.
Cash prizes! Everyone seems to like cash prizes. There is only one problem - where to get the cash. We want to be able to allow skilled and unskilled players alike to compete in all tournaments. So, we have come up with a way to allow everyone to participate, and those who want to compete for cash are able to win a prize.
-kamikaze.18 (co-tourney coordinator)

1. Anyone can sign up to play and will be allowed to play, no matter what skill level.

2. Upon signing up, anyone who wants to pitch in $5 can add the money to the pot. Those people who pitch in $5 will be put on a list so that we know who has pitched in. Only those people that pitch into the pot are eligible to win it. For team events, every member of the team must pitch in.

3. If the winner of the tournament is someone who pitched in, then the pot goes to them. If the winner is someone who has not pitched in, then the cash is given back to those who paid. As a result, the tournament becomes free for everyone.

4. This will spice up the competition between the players who are planning on winning the competition, yet still allow those who just want to play for fun into the same tournament.

5. This could be an interesting way to break in a new tournament such as Warcraft 3, while adding some new life to the usual tournaments - Counterstrike and Quake3.

Hungry? Sleepy? - Posted by MerlinRML on 3/23/2003 at 12:13:41 AM.
For those looking for a hotel room, you can call the Microtel Inn toll free at 877-422-5250. They've got single and double rooms available for $50 and $55 respectively (just mention Quake 'N Bake). Check-in time is after 3:00 PM and check-out time is noon. It's located right off I-35 and Highway 30 at 2216 SE 16th Street and here's a map.

You're welcome to sleep in your cars or on the floor, but it is a cold, cement floor so you might want to bring a sleeping bag or a mat or something.

We will be having 2 meals (both Pizza) at PG13. One is Saturday night, and the other is Sunday noon. You'll get about 3-4 slices of daVinci's pizza for $4. You will have to pay for both meals by about 2:00 PM on Saturday if you want to eat.

Tournament rules should be posted in the next few days, and if you're lucky I'll put up a list of sponsors.

Prepayments - Posted by 4T2 on 3/16/2003 at 5:17:27 PM.
A little reminder for everyone, the prepayment deadline is fast approaching. We must receive your prepayment by the 28th if you want to get into the event at the reduced price. If we don’t receive your payment by the deadline you will have pay the standard door fee.

Keep watching the site as we will be posting the tournament rules/guidelines soon and maybe give you a few surprises.

PINGS!! Look at my pings mommy!! - Posted by 4T2 on 2/20/2003 at 1:52:07 AM.
Yes, that’s right everyone, our t-1’s are finally in. I can definitely say we love the new found pings. I can finally take that damn cable modem and place it happily up Mediacom’s @ss. The web server has been switched over to the new line as well so DNS may take a bit to propagate.

Oh ya, did I mention that the game servers should be up by this weekend? Everyone better get ready for some action.

To keep you busy until April - Posted by MerlinRML on 2/17/2003 at 2:26:44 AM.
For those of you heading back to the Omaha area during Spring Break, you might want to check out Railan. They've got an event scheduled for March 21st and are expecting about 30 people. It looks like they'll fill up, so you should get registered early.

Wow, registration is really moving. We passed 100 in under a week. We've still got plenty of room, though, so get signed up. I'd like to see a full 200, or even 300! Keep checking here for details.

Just a quick update about QNB:
Food and hotel information should be posted soon. Tournament rules and configs should be coming soon, as well. The public game servers will return (finally!!) soon. Sponsorship and prize information, well, that's up to our sponsors.
